Export for private buyers (EU)

BPM Refund

The Netherlands charges BPM (luxury tax). When exporting a vehicle to another EU country, this amount can be reclaimed.

Deposit requirement

• 50% of remaining BPM
• Refunded after proof of final EU registration and approval by the Dutch tax authorities

VAT vehicles

For VAT-qualifying vehicles, the same rule applies:

• 50% VAT deposit
• Refunded once valid proof of VAT settlement in the buyer’s EU country is provided

Exception

No BPM/VAT deposit is required if:

• The vehicle can be pre-registered in the buyer’s country before export, and
• Official proof of registration is provided in advance

In such cases, the vehicle must be fully paid before starting the export procedure.

RDW Export documentation service

We provide the complete set of official RDW export documents required for legally exporting a vehicle from the Netherlands. Fully compliant, fast and precise.

RDW Export plate & Insurance service

We arrange the official RDW export license plates and a 14-day road insurance, enabling safe and legal transportation of the vehicle to its destination.

Location & Accessibility

Our company is conveniently located 80 km from the Dutch-German border and 80 km from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, making travel and collection efficient for international buyers. We also use several partner locations for viewing and handovers, please contact us in advance to confirm the exact location of the vehicle.

How export works at X-MOTIVE

• Select a vehicle
• Order confirmation is prepared, including all customer details and financial terms (BPM/VAT deposit & down payment), with the request to sign and return it
• Submit all required buyer documents
• Identity verification / Business KYC via Novatrade24
• After approval, the invoice is issued, including a request for the down payment, with the instruction to sign and return the invoice
• Full payment of the vehicle, before or during delivery, according to the order confirmation, including, where applicable, the 50% BPM/VAT deposit
• Payments must be made by bank transfer only
• Request RDW export documents (optional via X-MOTIVE)
• Vehicle collection or transport
